Curious what people think. I'm single, late 20s, and Household incomes average around $239,205 in Potomac. It's a a smaller city city with about 46,230 people. The food scene here is surprisingly good. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Has anyone dealt with this? Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The suburbs are where most families end up. The weather takes some getting used to. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

I've lived in Sunset for about 7 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from Pittsburgh, I was surprised by dating scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good internet infrastructure
- The nightlife scene is challenging
The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Chain restaurants dominate
Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for remote workers. Hope this helps!.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem underrated.
I've been here 6 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is job market. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the healthcare is legit. And if you're into kayaking, this place is improving.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The South side vs the Sunset side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Definitely worth checking out..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value food scene, you'll love it. The pet-friendliness is genuinely underrated and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. My neighborhood (Westside) is reasonable and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Minneapolis, be prepared for the culture shock. school system is completely different here. And Traffic during rush hour is rough.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
