Hey everyone, Born and raised here. Median household income is $60,050, which feels about average for the area. Crime rate is something to consider -Poughkeepsie sits at 772.5 per 100K. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. What neighborhoods would you suggest? The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The weather takes some getting used to. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.
