Moving to Poulsbo for work -advice?

Hello, Median household income is $95,774, which feels pretty solid for the area. Homes are going for about $574,900 on average. Rent is about $1,767/month for a decent place. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Am I overthinking this? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The suburbs are where most families end up. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The suburbs are where most families end up. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want job market, then yeah this place is great. But if walkability matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

We moved here with our family and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Schools in Midtown area are challenging. Kids love it here.

As someone who grew up here, the quality of life is solid. A lot has changed in the past few years though. community vibe used to be much growing but now it's decent.

Used to live on the East side, now on the Highland side. Completely different vibe. it's been a really good experience overall.

Came here for a fresh start and stayed because the quality of life is solid. The outdoor recreation is honestly improving and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem surprisingly good.

I've been here 8 years and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The thing nobody mentions is pet-friendliness. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the community vibe is legit. And if you're into photography, this place is better than expected.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Uptown side vs the Eastside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Happy to answer more specific questions..
