Is it worth buying in Powdersville?

Hey folks, I'm a remote worker and Homes are going for about $318,600 on average. Household incomes average around $88,125 in Powdersville. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Is this normal for Powdersville?

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I have mixed feelings honestly. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Hot take but it was the best decision I ever made. I know a lot of people disagree but after 5 years here, that's my honest assessment.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are hit or miss, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.

I've been here 10 years and it's been a really good experience overall. The thing nobody mentions is food scene. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the healthcare is legit. And if you're into surfing, this place is average.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Springfield side vs the Lakewood side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Feel free to reach out with questions..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a sales manager who relocated here from San Francisco about 5 years ago. The main reasons were school and weather.

Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Affordable housing options
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
- Can feel isolated
- Homeless population growing downtown

Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are established, gas is average.

Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. No regrets on my end..

We moved here with our family and it's been a really good experience overall. Schools in Fairview area are better than expected. Kids love it here.

We moved here with our family and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Schools in Old Town area are average. Kids love it here.
