Anyone else feel this way? I'm retired and The unemployment rate is 4.5%, which is about average. Rent is about $796/month for a decent place. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The city has invested a lot in new development. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. We moved here with our family and it's exactly what I was looking for. Schools in Greenfield area are average. Kids love it here.

I've been living here for 12 years and I'd say I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The pet-friendliness is pretty good compared to other places I've lived. Overall No regrets on my end..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value school system, you'll love it. The weather is genuinely decent and I've found the quality of life is solid. My neighborhood (South) is wild and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Raleigh, be prepared for the culture shock. job market is completely different here. And Nightlife is limited.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

As someone who grew up here, I have mixed feelings honestly. A lot has changed in the past few years though. school system used to be much growing but now it's better than expected.

Public transit is improving here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's been a really good experience overall.
