Longtime lurker here, Military spouse here. The median home value here is around $152,100, which is actually reasonable. Median household income is $52,670, which feels on the lower side for the area. With a population of 5,471, Prairie du Chien is a small town. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Does this match your experience? Looking forward to hearing from you all. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The city has invested a lot in new development.
