Living in Prairie View -the reality

I'm a college student here and It's a a small town city with about 8,220 people. With a population of 8,220, Prairie View is a small town. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Worth the trade-offs? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem pretty good.

I've been here 3 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is dating scene. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the outdoor recreation is legit. And if you're into golfing, this place is pretty good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Westside side vs the Downtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Used to live on the Fairview side, now on the Downtown side. Completely different vibe. I have mixed feelings honestly.

My experience has been mostly positive. I have mixed feelings honestly. The only thing I'd watch out for is weather. Other than that, No regrets on my end..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want weather, then yeah this place is great. But if dating scene matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

The food scene here is average. Tons of great Thai places. I love the pace of life here.

I've been here 1 years and it's exactly what I was looking for. The thing nobody mentions is cultural scene. It's manageable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the cultural scene is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is pretty good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Springfield side vs the Westside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

I've been living here for 8 years and I'd say I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The walkability is improving compared to other places I've lived. Overall No regrets on my end..
