Is Prairie Village worth moving to in 2026?
Anyone else feel this way? I grew up here but left for a while. The median home value here is around $402,600, which is pretty steep. The unemployment rate is 2.3%, which is pretty low. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The weather takes some getting used to. The weather takes some getting used to. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The suburbs are where most families end up. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The weather takes some getting used to. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.
