Household incomes average around $63,512 in Pratt. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Let me know your thoughts. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The weather takes some getting used to. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

I've been here 1 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The thing nobody mentions is cost of living. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the walkability is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is challenging.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Meadowbrook side vs the Westside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

I've been here 12 years and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The thing nobody mentions is traffic. It's established and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the housing market is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is hit or miss.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Cedar Grove side vs the South side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
It's not for everyone but it works for us..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a electrician, 40, moved here 5 years ago from Raleigh. I've lived in East and Midtown, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Great outdoor activities nearby
2. Good internet infrastructure
3. Affordable housing options
4. The people are generally decent - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Limited high-paying job options
2. Far from beaches/mountains
3. The school system situation is competitive and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- East: Great for families. better than expected vibes, walkable.
- Midtown: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Raleigh, everything felt surprisingly good. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are competitive. Gas is affordable. You can live comfortably on $50K-$150K here.
**Final verdict:**

We moved here with our family and it's improved dramatically in recent years. Schools in Old Town area are surprisingly good. Kids love it here.
