What I wish I knew before living in Prattville

So, Rent is about $1,250/month for a decent place. Median household income is $79,396, which feels about average for the area. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Am I wrong here? I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value public transit, you'll love it. The nightlife is genuinely average and I've found it's been a really good experience overall. My neighborhood (Cedar Grove) is manageable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Dallas, be prepared for the culture shock. outdoor recreation is completely different here. And Property taxes are high.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
