Born and raised here. You can expect to pay around $796 for rent here. Homes are going for about $189,800 on average. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. What neighborhoods would you suggest? Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The suburbs are where most families end up. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

I've lived in Fairview for about 2 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. When I first moved here from LA, I was surprised by pet-friendliness. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Diverse dining options
- The community vibe scene is surprisingly good
The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Summers can be brutally hot
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for families. Good luck with whatever you decide..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 15 years ago from Austin and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Midtown. It's excellent for what you get.
Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in finance. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.
People: Generally pretty good. It took about 18 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.
