It's a a small town city with about 19,121 people. With a population of 19,121, Prichard is a small town. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Would love some local perspective. The city has invested a lot in new development. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The suburbs are where most families end up.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a contractor who relocated here from Austin about 6 years ago. The main reasons were school and quality of life.
Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Close to major attractions
Cons that are real:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Far from beaches/mountains
Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are growing, gas is pretty good.
Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Came here for work and stayed because I love the pace of life here. The cost of living is honestly underrated and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
