Best neighborhoods in Princeton

Anyone else feel this way? Been living here since 2017. You can expect to pay around $1,663 for rent here. It's a a smaller city city with about 41,476 people. With a population of 41,476, Princeton is a smaller city. Household incomes average around $82,130 in Princeton. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The weather takes some getting used to. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Is this normal for Princeton?

Public transit is decent here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

Used to live on the Pine Hills side, now on the Westside side. Completely different vibe. I love the pace of life here.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem underrated.

I've been here 10 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is housing market. It's established and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the outdoor recreation is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is underrated.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Cedar Grove side vs the Eastside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Happy to answer more specific questions..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a chef, 25, moved here 11 years ago from Miami. I've lived in Westside and Greenfield, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Great outdoor activities nearby
2. Low crime in most neighborhoods
3. Good internet infrastructure
4. The people are generally better than expected - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Winters are long and cold
2. Dating scene is rough
3. The pet-friendliness situation is manageable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Westside: Great for remote workers. pretty good vibes, walkable.
- Greenfield: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Miami, everything felt decent. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are growing. Gas is competitive. You can live comfortably on $50K-$150K here.

**Final verdict:**
Definitely worth checking out.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.
