What to expect moving to Princeton?

Hey folks, With a population of 7,829, Princeton is a small town. Thoughts? The city has invested a lot in new development.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 15 years ago from San Diego and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Eastside. It's solid for what you get.

Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in marketing. If you're in engineering you might struggle.

People: Generally tough. It took about 7 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: hit or miss. Tons of options if you like Italian.

Definitely worth checking out..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want dating scene, then yeah this place is great. But if nightlife matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value community vibe, you'll love it. The food scene is genuinely underrated and I've found I genuinely enjoy living here. My neighborhood (Old Town) is reasonable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Salt Lake City, be prepared for the culture shock. public transit is completely different here. And Homeless population growing downtown.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
