Rent in Princeton Meadows getting crazy

Anyone else feel this way? Median household income is $124,065, which feels pretty solid for the area. The median home value here is around $636,300, which is pretty steep. Household incomes average around $124,065 in Princeton Meadows. The weather takes some getting used to. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Would love some local perspective. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The suburbs are where most families end up. The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a data analyst, 47, moved here 2 years ago from Atlanta. I've lived in Lakewood and Midtown, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Growing food and restaurant scene
2. Nice parks and green spaces
3. Close to major attractions
4. The people are generally excellent - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Limited shopping options
2. Dating scene is rough
3. The food scene situation is stable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Lakewood: Great for remote workers. solid vibes, walkable.
- Midtown: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Atlanta, everything felt challenging. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are growing. Gas is pricey. You can live comfortably on $60K-$90K here.

**Final verdict:**
It's not for everyone but it works for us.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 3 years ago from New York and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Highland. It's pretty good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in finance. If you're in tech you might struggle.

People: Generally improving. It took about 8 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: hit or miss. Tons of options if you like sushi.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

I've lived in Old Town for about 7 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Phoenix, I was surprised by school system. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Close to major attractions
- Good airport with direct flights
- The walkability scene is solid

The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Can feel isolated

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for singles. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value walkability, you'll love it. The outdoor recreation is genuinely hit or miss and I've found it exceeded my expectations. My neighborhood (Cedar Grove) is manageable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from San Francisco, be prepared for the culture shock. pet-friendliness is completely different here. And Limited shopping options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. the quality of life is solid. Compared to Salt Lake City it's hit or miss.

I've been living here for 3 years and I'd say it was the best decision I ever made. The safety is better than expected compared to other places I've lived. Overall Definitely worth checking out..
