Housing market in Princeton right now

Hey everyone, I've been here for 9 years and The unemployment rate is 2.8%, which is pretty low. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. What are your go-to spots? Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 14 years ago from Raleigh and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Meadowbrook. It's underrated for what you get.

Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in engineering. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.

People: Generally tough. It took about 11 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: decent. Tons of options if you like craft beer.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a nurse, 26, moved here 10 years ago from Tampa. I've lived in Eastside and Pine Hills, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Good schools in most areas
2. Strong job market in several industries
3. Diverse dining options
4. The people are generally hit or miss - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Not a lot of cultural diversity
2. Road conditions need improvement
3. The housing market situation is stable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Eastside: Great for remote workers. challenging vibes, walkable.
- Pine Hills: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Tampa, everything felt better than expected. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are established. Gas is growing. You can live comfortably on $90K-$140K here.

**Final verdict:**
No regrets on my end.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.
