Moving from Tampa to Princeton next month

Not sure if this has been asked before, but Military spouse here. Crime rate is something to consider -Princeton sits at 288.7 per 100K. Rent is about $2,059/month for a decent place. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Am I overthinking this? Thanks! Property taxes are high but you get good services. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I have mixed feelings honestly. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a real estate agent, 33, moved here 11 years ago from Minneapolis. I've lived in Highland and Greenfield, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Good healthcare facilities
2. Lots of new development happening
3. Strong sense of community
4. The people are generally surprisingly good - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Homeless population growing downtown
2. Limited entertainment options
3. The cultural scene situation is developing and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Highland: Great for young professionals. improving vibes, walkable.
- Greenfield: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Minneapolis, everything felt decent. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are wild. Gas is manageable. You can live comfortably on $80K-$80K here.

**Final verdict:**
Good luck with whatever you decide.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem excellent.

I've been here 15 years and it's not perfect but it works for me. The thing nobody mentions is weather. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the job market is legit. And if you're into running, this place is solid.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The North side vs the South side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Happy to answer more specific questions..
