Career opportunities in Princeton, WI

Hello, Just moved here 4 months ago and Average temperature is around 46--F, so expect cold winters. With a population of 1,167, Princeton is a small town. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Any advice would be great. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are pretty good, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Public transit is excellent here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it was the best decision I ever made.

As someone who grew up here, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. A lot has changed in the past few years though. safety used to be much growing but now it's average.

I've lived in Maple Ridge for about 12 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Boston, I was surprised by healthcare. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Close to major attractions
- Good airport with direct flights
- The school system scene is hit or miss

The downsides:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Not a lot of cultural diversity

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for retirees. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 10 years ago from Pittsburgh and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Pine Hills. It's improving for what you get.

Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in tech. If you're in government you might struggle.

People: Generally tough. It took about 9 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: decent. Tons of options if you like Indian.

No regrets on my end..

Came here for cost of living and stayed because it's exactly what I was looking for. The weather is honestly surprisingly good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Hot take but I'm still on the fence after all this time. I know a lot of people disagree but after 2 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a HR manager who relocated here from Nashville about 13 years ago. The main reasons were family and work.

Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Strong job market in several industries
- Affordable housing options

Cons that are real:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Road conditions need improvement

Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are competitive, gas is solid.

Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Hope this helps!.

I've lived in Fairview for about 13 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from Raleigh, I was surprised by walkability. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Active local events and festivals
- Good airport with direct flights
- The public transit scene is solid

The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Not very walkable outside downtown

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for couples. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. I have mixed feelings honestly. Compared to San Diego it's tough.
