Is Princeville getting better or worse?

Not sure if this has been asked before, but The median home value here is around $1,215,000, which is pretty steep. With a population of 1,794, Princeville is a small town. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Am I overthinking this?

Came here for weather and stayed because it's not perfect but it works for me. The weather is honestly pretty good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I'm a marketing manager and I've found the quality of life is solid. The community is better than expected and there's always something going on.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 3 years ago from Charlotte and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in North. It's hit or miss for what you get.

Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in finance. If you're in manufacturing you might struggle.

People: Generally tough. It took about 12 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: improving. Tons of options if you like Vietnamese.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I've lived in Midtown for about 5 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from LA, I was surprised by job market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Lots of new development happening
- The walkability scene is average

The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Road conditions need improvement

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for young professionals. No regrets on my end..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value healthcare, you'll love it. The food scene is genuinely pretty good and I've found the quality of life is solid. My neighborhood (Meadowbrook) is affordable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Seattle, be prepared for the culture shock. weather is completely different here. And Urban sprawl is real.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a nurse who relocated here from Salt Lake City about 13 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and retirement.

Pros I've experienced:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Affordable housing options
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Homeless population growing downtown

Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are reasonable, gas is challenging.

Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
