What surprised you most about Prineville?

Random thought, Median household income is $72,058, which feels about average for the area. Poverty rate is 10.6%, which is around average. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Am I wrong here? It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The suburbs are where most families end up. The city has invested a lot in new development. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it exceeded my expectations. Internet is pretty good in most areas.

Public transit is excellent here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it was the best decision I ever made.

Public transit is hit or miss here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.
