Hello, I'm a remote worker and It's a a smaller city city with about 27,832 people. The unemployment rate is 0.9%, which is pretty low. The median home value here is around $429,900, which is pretty steep. Poverty rate is 1.4%, which is pretty low. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Let me know your thoughts. The suburbs are where most families end up. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The weather takes some getting used to. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

Public transit is better than expected here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's been a really good experience overall.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a project manager who relocated here from San Francisco about 2 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and cost of living.
Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good healthcare facilities
- Four distinct seasons
Cons that are real:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are manageable, gas is average.
Socially, I love the pace of life here. Good luck with whatever you decide..
