I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Rent is about $1,333/month for a decent place. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Thanks in advance! The suburbs are where most families end up. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 15 years ago from Atlanta and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Highland. It's improving for what you get.
Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in government. If you're in engineering you might struggle.
People: Generally challenging. It took about 6 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.
