Career opportunities in Providence Village, TX

Hey folks, Born and raised here. It's a a small town city with about 8,116 people. Poverty rate is 9.5%, which is pretty low. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. What are your go-to spots? The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Property taxes are high but you get good services. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The city has invested a lot in new development. The food scene here is surprisingly good. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

I've lived in Highland for about 8 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Denver, I was surprised by safety. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Nice parks and green spaces
- The school system scene is surprisingly good

The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Dating scene is rough

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for retirees. Hope this helps!.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem pretty good.

I've been here 1 years and it was the best decision I ever made. The thing nobody mentions is healthcare. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the cost of living is legit. And if you're into camping, this place is challenging.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Eastside side vs the Uptown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Hope this helps!.
