Honest thoughts on life in Provincetown

Hey everyone, I relocated for work and It's a a small town city with about 3,466 people. With a population of 3,466, Provincetown is a small town. Homes are going for about $786,900 on average. The median home value here is around $786,900, which is pretty steep. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Pros:
- Good job market
- Close to nature
- Lots of new development
- Good airport connections

Cons:
- Traffic can be terrible
- Not very walkable
- Boring for young people
- Mosquitoes and humidity
- Limited cultural events
Am I wrong here? People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The weather takes some getting used to. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The suburbs are where most families end up. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The weather takes some getting used to.

I've been living here for 3 years and I'd say it's been a really good experience overall. The cost of living is tough compared to other places I've lived. Overall Happy to answer more specific questions..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Fairview for 5 years. Moved from Phoenix for my partner's job. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is average. We bought in 2021 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals.

**Employment:**
healthcare is strong here. consulting is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are developing for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it's been a really good experience overall. The outdoor scene is hit or miss - we have beaches within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Fairview schools are improving. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Not very walkable outside downtown. Limited shopping options. And cultural scene can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For remote workers, I'd say this is a 9/10. Give it a chance - it might surprise you.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.
