Biggest downsides of living in Pueblo?

Curious what people think. Median household income is $55,305, which feels about average for the area. Rent is about $1,020/month for a decent place. It's a a mid-size city city with about 112K people. The unemployment rate is 3.2%, which is pretty low. Average temperature is around 55--F, so expect cold winters. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Pros:
- Affordable cost of living
- Growing food scene
- Low taxes
- Walkable downtown

Cons:
- Rising rent prices
- High property taxes
- Mosquitoes and humidity
The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The weather takes some getting used to. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The city has invested a lot in new development. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want public transit, then yeah this place is great. But if community vibe matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are tough, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

I've lived in Westside for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's not perfect but it works for me. When I first moved here from Pittsburgh, I was surprised by school system. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Affordable housing options
- The dating scene scene is average

The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Dating scene is rough

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for couples. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.

I've been here 14 years and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The thing nobody mentions is public transit. It's established and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the healthcare is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is underrated.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Uptown side vs the Springfield side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..

My experience has been mostly positive. the quality of life is solid. The only thing I'd watch out for is job market. Other than that, Hope this helps!.

Weather-wise, the summers are surprisingly good and winters are established. You get used to it after the first year.

Public transit is pretty good here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's not perfect but it works for me.
