Is Pueblo getting better or worse?

Anyone else feel this way? We have two kids and It's a a mid-size city city with about 112K people. Am I wrong here?

The food scene here is challenging. Tons of great craft beer places. I love the pace of life here.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Compared to Phoenix it's surprisingly good.

I've been living here for 8 years and I'd say it's improved dramatically in recent years. The job market is decent compared to other places I've lived. Overall Would recommend to anyone considering it..

My experience has been mostly positive. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The only thing I'd watch out for is food scene. Other than that, It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Bought a house here in 2022 and it's exactly what I was looking for. Property values have gone down slightly since then.

Used to live on the Westside side, now on the Sunset side. Completely different vibe. it's not perfect but it works for me.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a software engineer who relocated here from Chicago about 7 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and a fresh start.

Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Lots of new development happening
- Close to major attractions

Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are affordable, gas is improving.

Socially, I love the pace of life here. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a pharmacist, 55, moved here 9 years ago from Boston. I've lived in Downtown and West, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Great outdoor activities nearby
2. Nice parks and green spaces
3. Diverse dining options
4. The people are generally excellent - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Summers can be brutally hot
2. Far from beaches/mountains
3. The job market situation is affordable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Downtown: Great for singles. solid vibes, walkable.
- West: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Boston, everything felt solid. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are developing. Gas is growing. You can live comfortably on $40K-$110K here.

**Final verdict:**
Would recommend to anyone considering it.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.
