Why I chose Pueblo over bigger cities
First post here. Military spouse here. Rent is about $1,020/month for a decent place. Average temperature is around 55--F, so expect cold winters. Homes are going for about $230,900 on average. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Am I overthinking this? People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The city has invested a lot in new development. The weather takes some getting used to. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.
