Why I chose Pueblo over bigger cities

OK so Been living here since 2023. With a population of 112K, Pueblo is a mid-size city. Rent is about $1,020/month for a decent place. The median home value here is around $230,900, which is actually reasonable. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

Pros:
- Good job market
- Close to nature
- Diverse community
- Plenty of shopping options
- Active local events

Cons:
- Limited nightlife
- Sprawl everywhere
- Limited dining options
- Lack of diversity
Let me know your thoughts. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a social worker who relocated here from San Diego about 9 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Active local events and festivals
- Four distinct seasons

Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Can feel isolated

Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are affordable, gas is better than expected.

Socially, I love the pace of life here. Happy to answer more specific questions..
