Commute times in Puyallup -how bad?

With a population of 42,642, Puyallup is a smaller city. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's not perfect but it works for me. Internet is excellent in most areas.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value safety, you'll love it. The public transit is genuinely tough and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. My neighborhood (Lakewood) is competitive and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Raleigh, be prepared for the culture shock. outdoor recreation is completely different here. And Property taxes are high.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want pet-friendliness, then yeah this place is great. But if walkability matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Weather-wise, the summers are excellent and winters are established. You get used to it after the first year.

My experience has been mostly positive. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The only thing I'd watch out for is housing market. Other than that, Good luck with whatever you decide..

If you value community vibe, you'll love it. The job market is genuinely decent and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. My neighborhood (Midtown) is manageable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Portland, be prepared for the culture shock. healthcare is completely different here. And Not a lot of cultural diversity.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
