Puyallup is underrated, change my mind

Hi all, Crime rate is something to consider -Puyallup sits at 312.9 per 100K. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The weather takes some getting used to. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is healthcare. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Worth doing your research before committing.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Cedar Grove for 2 years. Moved from Denver for weather. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is tough. We bought in 2020 at k and it's now worth up significantly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable.

**Employment:**
consulting is strong here. consulting is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are stable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it's been a really good experience overall. The outdoor scene is average - we have desert landscapes within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Cedar Grove schools are tough. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Rising rent and home prices. Limited high-paying job options. And nightlife can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For couples, I'd say this is a 9/10. Good luck with whatever you decide.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem average.

I've been here 1 years and it's been a really good experience overall. The thing nobody mentions is walkability. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the school system is legit. And if you're into fishing, this place is average.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Riverside side vs the Greenfield side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

We moved here with our family and I genuinely enjoy living here. Schools in Sunset area are solid. Kids love it here.
