First post here. The unemployment rate is 1.2%, which is pretty low. It's a a small town city with about 2,100 people. The median home value here is around $70,800, which is actually reasonable. Average temperature is around 62--F, so the weather is moderate. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Am I wrong here? Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

As someone who grew up here, I'm still on the fence after all this time. A lot has changed in the past few years though. walkability used to be much competitive but now it's average.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are pretty good, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

I've lived in Downtown for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from Miami, I was surprised by walkability. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Strong sense of community
- The safety scene is excellent
The downsides:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for singles. Happy to answer more specific questions..
