Raceland in the winter -how bad?

Random thought, We're a young couple and Crime rate is something to consider -Raceland sits at 618.2 per 100K. Household incomes average around $53,328 in Raceland. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Should I be concerned? Any help is appreciated. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

I've been living here for 8 years and I'd say the quality of life is solid. The nightlife is pretty good compared to other places I've lived. Overall Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
