Just moved here 14 months ago and With a population of 77,155, Racine is a smaller city. Median household income is $55,705, which feels about average for the area. You can expect to pay around $983 for rent here. It's a a smaller city city with about 77,155 people. Rent is about $983/month for a decent place. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The city has invested a lot in new development. The suburbs are where most families end up.

Pros:
- Great weather
- Nice parks and trails
- Strong sense of community
- Active local events

Cons:
- Limited nightlife
- Not very walkable
- Not enough green space
Appreciate any input. The suburbs are where most families end up. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The city has invested a lot in new development. OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a contractor, 47, moved here 1 years ago from Salt Lake City. I've lived in Fairview and Riverside, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Cost of living is very reasonable
2. Growing food and restaurant scene
3. Strong sense of community
4. The people are generally challenging - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Nightlife is limited
2. Not a lot of cultural diversity
3. The traffic situation is reasonable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Fairview: Great for remote workers. pretty good vibes, walkable.
- Riverside: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Salt Lake City, everything felt challenging. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are growing. Gas is stable. You can live comfortably on $70K-$110K here.

**Final verdict:**
Feel free to reach out with questions.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
