Working in Racine -salaries realistic?

Hello, I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Median household income is $55,705, which feels about average for the area. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Worth the trade-offs? The suburbs are where most families end up.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 10 years ago from LA and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Fairview. It's excellent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in real estate. If you're in real estate you might struggle.

People: Generally challenging. It took about 10 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: improving. Tons of options if you like seafood.

Definitely worth checking out..

Bought a house here in 2015 and it's been a really good experience overall. Property values have gone up a bit since then.

The food scene here is underrated. Tons of great Italian places. I have mixed feelings honestly.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want housing market, then yeah this place is great. But if nightlife matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
