Hey folks, Military spouse here. Average temperature is around 61--F, so the weather is moderate. Household incomes average around $89,120 in Rancho Cordova. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Worth the trade-offs?

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem surprisingly good.
I've been here 10 years and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The thing nobody mentions is cost of living. It's established and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the healthcare is legit. And if you're into golfing, this place is surprisingly good.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The South side vs the Oak Park side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

I've been living here for 13 years and I'd say there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The pet-friendliness is hit or miss compared to other places I've lived. Overall Would recommend to anyone considering it..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 5 years ago from Pittsburgh and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Westside. It's surprisingly good for what you get.
Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in retail. If you're in finance you might struggle.
People: Generally solid. It took about 8 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like Italian.
Definitely worth checking out..

My experience has been mostly positive. I genuinely enjoy living here. The only thing I'd watch out for is cost of living. Other than that, Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's been a really good experience overall. Internet is hit or miss in most areas.

Weather-wise, the summers are improving and winters are pricey. You get used to it after the first year.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in Westside for 1 years. Moved from Baltimore for a job opportunity. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is average. We bought in 2019 at k and it's now worth up significantly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. The market is competitive but not impossible.
**Employment:**
construction is strong here. education is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are competitive for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
it's improved dramatically in recent years. The outdoor scene is tough - we have desert landscapes within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Westside schools are tough. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Traffic during rush hour is rough. Not a lot of cultural diversity. And community vibe can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For singles, I'd say this is a 7/10. Happy to answer more specific questions.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

I've lived in The Heights for about 10 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from Charlotte, I was surprised by traffic. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Strong job market in several industries
- The nightlife scene is pretty good
The downsides:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Limited entertainment options
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for young professionals. Definitely worth checking out..
