Raising a family in Rancho Cordova -thoughts?

Been meaning to ask this. I relocated for work and Crime rate is something to consider -Rancho Cordova sits at 296.6 per 100K. You can expect to pay around $1,698 for rent here. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. What do you all think?

Came here for work and stayed because it exceeded my expectations. The job market is honestly tough and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want dating scene, then yeah this place is great. But if healthcare matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Lakewood for 10 years. Moved from Pittsburgh for retirement. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is decent. We bought in 2022 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 1-bed in a safe area. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts.

**Employment:**
tech is strong here. marketing is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are wild for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I love the pace of life here. The outdoor scene is pretty good - we have lakes within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Lakewood schools are decent. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Road conditions need improvement. Dating scene is rough. And cost of living can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For singles, I'd say this is a 6/10. Would recommend to anyone considering it.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Public transit is tough here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

Came here for quality of life and stayed because it's improved dramatically in recent years. The weather is honestly solid and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Compared to Salt Lake City it's average.

Hot take but there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. I know a lot of people disagree but after 13 years here, that's my honest assessment.

I've been living here for 14 years and I'd say it's been a really good experience overall. The job market is tough compared to other places I've lived. Overall Hope this helps!.
