Working remotely from Rancho Cordova

Been meaning to ask this. My family moved here when I was a kid. Household incomes average around $89,120 in Rancho Cordova. The median home value here is around $451,400, which is pretty steep. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

I've lived in Greenfield for about 15 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's not perfect but it works for me. When I first moved here from Austin, I was surprised by weather. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Nice parks and green spaces
- The community vibe scene is challenging

The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Urban sprawl is real

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for families. Feel free to reach out with questions..

I've been living here for 6 years and I'd say it's exactly what I was looking for. The cost of living is underrated compared to other places I've lived. Overall No regrets on my end..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is public transit. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Worth doing your research before committing.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a chef who relocated here from Atlanta about 5 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and a job opportunity.

Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good airport with direct flights
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Limited entertainment options

Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are wild, gas is decent.

Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Bought a house here in 2021 and it was the best decision I ever made. Property values have gone up a bit since then.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Greenfield for 7 years. Moved from Miami for my partner's job. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is challenging. We bought in 2015 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. Older homes are where the value is.

**Employment:**
manufacturing is strong here. finance is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are stable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it's exactly what I was looking for. The outdoor scene is better than expected - we have state parks within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Greenfield schools are better than expected. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Urban sprawl is real. Chain restaurants dominate. And public transit can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For remote workers, I'd say this is a 5/10. Would recommend to anyone considering it.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Minneapolis, I was surprised by job market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Nice parks and green spaces
- The outdoor recreation scene is excellent

The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Not very walkable outside downtown

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for retirees. Definitely worth checking out..

I'm a physical therapist who relocated here from Tampa about 4 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and retirement.

Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Four distinct seasons
- Affordable housing options

Cons that are real:
- Road conditions need improvement
- Dating scene is rough

Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are wild, gas is challenging.

Socially, it exceeded my expectations. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

- Active local events and festivals
- Strong sense of community
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value pet-friendliness, you'll love it. The dating scene is genuinely decent and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. My neighborhood (Sunset) is established and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from LA, be prepared for the culture shock. nightlife is completely different here. And Not a lot of cultural diversity.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I've been in Greenfield for 5 years. Moved from Pittsburgh for weather. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is pretty good. We bought in 2021 at k and it's now worth up significantly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 1-bed in a safe area. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals.

**Employment:**
healthcare is strong here. hospitality is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are pricey for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The outdoor scene is pretty good - we have national forests within easy driving distance.

Not a lot of cultural diversity. Bugs and humidity in summer. And pet-friendliness can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For couples, I'd say this is a 5/10. Happy to answer more specific questions.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a physical therapist, 50, moved here 9 years ago from Dallas. I've lived in North and Westside, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Great outdoor activities nearby
2. Low crime in most neighborhoods
3. Good airport with direct flights
4. The people are generally underrated - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Limited high-paying job options
2. Bugs and humidity in summer
3. The cultural scene situation is pricey and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- North: Great for retirees. hit or miss vibes, walkable.
- Westside: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Dallas, everything felt improving. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are wild. Gas is wild. You can live comfortably on $80K-$90K here.

**Final verdict:**
Good luck with whatever you decide.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.
