Moving to Rancho Cucamonga — what should I know?

Been meaning to ask this. I'm a teacher here and Crime rate is something to consider — Rancho Cucamonga sits at 278.9 per 100K. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Thoughts? The suburbs are where most families end up. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a pharmacist who relocated here from Denver about 13 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and school.

Pros I've experienced:
- Lots of new development happening
- Four distinct seasons
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Dating scene is rough

Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are developing, gas is improving.

Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
