Rancho Mirage job market vs St. Louis

Not sure if this has been asked before, but Military spouse here. The unemployment rate is 4.2%, which is about average. The weather takes some getting used to. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Does this match your experience? Looking forward to hearing from you all. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 8 years ago from Phoenix and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in South. It's solid for what you get.

Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in tech. If you're in finance you might struggle.

People: Generally decent. It took about 13 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: average. Tons of options if you like Thai.

Hope this helps!.
