Unpopular opinion about Rancho Mirage

Been meaning to ask this. I relocated for work and With a population of 17,375, Rancho Mirage is a small town. The unemployment rate is 4.2%, which is about average. Household incomes average around $109,943 in Rancho Mirage. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

Pros:
- Good job market
- Low taxes
- Active local events

Cons:
- Limited public transit
- Hot summers
- Poor road conditions
It's not perfect, but the community is solid. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem average.

I've been here 10 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The thing nobody mentions is community vibe. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the food scene is legit. And if you're into golfing, this place is challenging.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Westside side vs the Oak Park side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Hope this helps!.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want pet-friendliness, then yeah this place is great. But if housing market matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
