Best and worst neighborhoods in Rancho San Diego

Curious what people think. Homes are going for about $854,200 on average. Average temperature is around 65--F, so the weather is moderate. The unemployment rate is 4.8%, which is about average. Rent is about $2,431/month for a decent place. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The suburbs are where most families end up. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

Pros:
- Growing food scene
- Low crime in most areas
- Low taxes

Cons:
- Sprawl everywhere
- Far from major airports
- Chain restaurants dominate

Public transit is better than expected here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want traffic, then yeah this place is great. But if housing market matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem better than expected.

I've been here 1 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is community vibe. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the school system is legit. And if you're into golfing, this place is decent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Greenfield side vs the Lakewood side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Definitely worth checking out..
