Planning a move to Randolph Town -neighborhoods?

Hi all, I relocated for work and With a population of 34,683, Randolph Town is a smaller city. You can expect to pay around $2,049 for rent here. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Does this match your experience? TIA!

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.

I've been here 8 years and the quality of life is solid. The thing nobody mentions is healthcare. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the housing market is legit. And if you're into fishing, this place is underrated.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Highland side vs the Pine Hills side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a social worker, 29, moved here 2 years ago from Charlotte. I've lived in North and Meadowbrook, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Cost of living is very reasonable
2. Growing food and restaurant scene
3. Close to major attractions
4. The people are generally underrated - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Limited public transit options
2. Rising rent and home prices
3. The safety situation is manageable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- North: Great for retirees. surprisingly good vibes, walkable.
- Meadowbrook: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Charlotte, everything felt excellent. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are pricey. Gas is manageable. You can live comfortably on $90K-$140K here.

**Final verdict:**
Good luck with whatever you decide.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

I've lived in Fairview for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Austin, I was surprised by walkability. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Good healthcare facilities
- The community vibe scene is surprisingly good

The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Chain restaurants dominate

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for singles. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Weather-wise, the summers are hit or miss and winters are established. You get used to it after the first year.
