Anyone else love living in Rapid City?

OK so I've been here for 16 years and Poverty rate is 7.8%, which is pretty low. Rent is about $1,053/month for a decent place. You can expect to pay around $1,053 for rent here. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Anyone in a similar situation? It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The weather takes some getting used to. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem tough.

I've been here 2 years and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The thing nobody mentions is school system. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the cost of living is legit. And if you're into fishing, this place is better than expected.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The North side vs the Springfield side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Good luck with whatever you decide..
