Best and worst neighborhoods in Raytown

Anyone else feel this way? My partner and I are Rent is about $1,213/month for a decent place. Homes are going for about $162,000 on average. Poverty rate is 10.3%, which is around average. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

Pros:
- Low crime in most areas
- Good schools
- Diverse community
- Walkable downtown

Cons:
- Traffic can be terrible
- Sprawl everywhere
- Not very walkable
- Few job opportunities in some fields
- Limited cultural events
Anyone in a similar situation? There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The food scene here is surprisingly good. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The weather takes some getting used to. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. We moved here with our family and the quality of life is solid. Schools in Riverside area are improving. Kids love it here.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a lawyer who relocated here from Boston about 1 years ago. The main reasons were weather and quality of life.

Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Good healthcare facilities
- Decent public transit for the size

Cons that are real:
- Property taxes are high
- Can feel isolated

Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are developing, gas is improving.

Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. No regrets on my end..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from San Diego and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Highland. It's challenging for what you get.

Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in hospitality. If you're in government you might struggle.

People: Generally decent. It took about 14 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.

Hope this helps!.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want cost of living, then yeah this place is great. But if housing market matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a chef who relocated here from Austin about 13 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and weather.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good healthcare facilities
- Lots of new development happening

Cons that are real:
- Property taxes are high
- Dating scene is rough

Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are established, gas is solid.

Socially, it's been a really good experience overall. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in North for 8 years. Moved from Salt Lake City for retirement. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is improving. We bought in 2015 at k and it's now worth up significantly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 1-bed in a safe area. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable.

**Employment:**
tech is strong here. government is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are pricey for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it exceeded my expectations. The outdoor scene is average - we have ski resorts within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. North schools are challenging. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Can feel isolated. Bugs and humidity in summer. And safety can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For young professionals, I'd say this is a 9/10. No regrets on my end.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.
