Cheapest neighborhoods in Raytown?

Hello, Average temperature is around 55--F, so expect cold winters. Crime rate is something to consider -Raytown sits at 691.3 per 100K. You can expect to pay around $1,213 for rent here. The unemployment rate is 3.5%, which is pretty low. Homes are going for about $162,000 on average. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

Pros:
- Easy commute
- Walkable downtown
- Plenty of shopping options

Cons:
- Cold winters
- Not very walkable
- Lack of diversity
- Limited cultural events
- Chain restaurants dominate
Worth the trade-offs? Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The weather takes some getting used to. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Hot take but it's been a really good experience overall. I know a lot of people disagree but after 6 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Definitely worth checking out..

The food scene here is challenging. Tons of great Korean places. it was the best decision I ever made.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Old Town for 7 years. Moved from Boston for work. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is tough. We bought in 2020 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. The market is competitive but not impossible.

**Employment:**
manufacturing is strong here. tech is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are established for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I have mixed feelings honestly. The outdoor scene is tough - we have beaches within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Old Town schools are average. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Summers can be brutally hot. Winters are long and cold. And food scene can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For families, I'd say this is a 8/10. Definitely worth checking out.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Came here for family and stayed because it's exactly what I was looking for. The job market is honestly excellent and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
