Life in Raytown as a young professional

Anyone else feel this way? I'm a college student here and The unemployment rate is 3.5%, which is pretty low. Household incomes average around $67,227 in Raytown. The weather takes some getting used to. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Am I wrong here? The suburbs are where most families end up. Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

I've been living here for 2 years and I'd say it's not perfect but it works for me. The walkability is excellent compared to other places I've lived. Overall Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Public transit is surprisingly good here. You'll probably need a car for most things. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a data analyst who relocated here from Houston about 9 years ago. The main reasons were school and school.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Good healthcare facilities
- Decent public transit for the size

Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Road conditions need improvement

Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are pricey, gas is better than expected.

Socially, it's been a really good experience overall. Feel free to reach out with questions..
