Cheapest neighborhoods in Reading?
First post here. I'm a remote worker and Poverty rate is 23.1%, which is higher than I expected. Average temperature is around 55--F, so the weather is moderate. It's a a smaller city city with about 94,836 people. You can expect to pay around $1,018 for rent here. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.
Pros:
- Nice parks and trails
- Low crime in most areas
- Close to nature
- Good internet infrastructure
- Active local events
Cons:
- Traffic can be terrible
- Rising rent prices
- Boring for young people
- Poor road conditions
Is this normal for Reading? I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The city has invested a lot in new development. The city has invested a lot in new development.
