Commute times in Red Bank -how bad?

First post here. I'm a teacher here and Poverty rate is 7.0%, which is pretty low. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The weather takes some getting used to. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

I've been in Meadowbrook for 7 years. Moved from Charlotte for work. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is solid. We bought in 2015 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable.

**Employment:**
manufacturing is strong here. healthcare is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are developing for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it's improved dramatically in recent years. The outdoor scene is challenging - we have desert landscapes within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Meadowbrook schools are challenging. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Property taxes are high. Homeless population growing downtown. And cost of living can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**

**Employment:**
retail is strong here. education is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are pricey for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The outdoor scene is better than expected - we have rivers within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. The Heights schools are tough. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Not very walkable outside downtown. Chain restaurants dominate. And job market can be frustrating.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem average.

I've been here 3 years and it's not perfect but it works for me. The thing nobody mentions is pet-friendliness. It's manageable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the job market is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is decent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Greenfield side vs the Riverside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..
