Pros and cons of Red Bank after 2 years

Hey everyone, I've been here for 1 years and You can expect to pay around $1,985 for rent here. With a population of 12,864, Red Bank is a small town. Homes are going for about $477,000 on average. Average temperature is around 54--F, so expect cold winters. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The city has invested a lot in new development. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The weather takes some getting used to. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Public transit is average here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I love the pace of life here.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem excellent.

I've been here 7 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The thing nobody mentions is school system. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the community vibe is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is surprisingly good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Old Town side vs the Westside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Internet is surprisingly good in most areas.
