OK so Born and raised here. Homes are going for about $176,200 on average. The weather takes some getting used to. The suburbs are where most families end up.

We moved here with our family and I love the pace of life here. Schools in Lakewood area are surprisingly good. Kids love it here.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want pet-friendliness, then yeah this place is great. But if pet-friendliness matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

I've lived in Downtown for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's exactly what I was looking for. When I first moved here from Nashville, I was surprised by dating scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Good healthcare facilities
- The pet-friendliness scene is challenging
The downsides:
- Can feel isolated
- Far from beaches/mountains
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for retirees. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a electrician who relocated here from New York about 14 years ago. The main reasons were weather and retirement.
Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Good healthcare facilities
Cons that are real:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Dating scene is rough
Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are affordable, gas is solid.
Socially, it's been a really good experience overall. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Public transit is surprisingly good here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it exceeded my expectations.

My experience has been mostly positive. I love the pace of life here. The only thing I'd watch out for is walkability. Other than that, Definitely worth checking out..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is cost of living. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Worth doing your research before committing.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I have mixed feelings honestly. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
